General rules

There are many rules that you will find in the move in package, but here are the most important ones

Moving in

• The bedding included is only a mattress cover, Make sure to wash your sheets and mattress cover regularly.

• Inside the fridge and freezer, you must always Identify your food with your name and the date.

General

• Please be peaceful and quiet if someone is sleeping or relaxing

• Under no circumstances can you invite someone over at the apartment.

• Leave everything at designated spot to keep things organized and prevent people from looking for things

• If anything is broken or damaged, it has to be communicated immediately to my email dupontphilippe1@gmail.com and a note should be left on the fridge with the date to keep everyone in the loop and prevent multiple people from sending me email.

• If you receive a letter about the apartment, please send me an email to notify me and keep the letter on the shelf for me to collect.

• Let me know as soon as something breaks or as soon as something is found to be broken

Entering and exiting the unit
Always lock the door behind you. The door should be kept locked at all times.
Also always lock the balcony door behind you

• Be quiet when entering or exiting the apartment. Also makes sure to shut the door slowly but completely

• Never walk inside the apartment with shoes that have been used outside. We recommend that you buy some slippers and identify them. You should only use those or socks/barefoot for walking in the apartment in order to keep the floors clean.

• leave some dirt, water and calcium on the floors, and it could create noise and wake up

• someone.

• Always bring garbage (bathroom and kitchen) out even if half full when leaving the

apartment. It is very unpleasant to arrive at the apartment only to find out that the
garbage has been left full. Also prevents from infestations, bad smell and mold in the
kitchen. You can find the garbage container outside the building, north of the back
entrance.

• Make sure the air conditioner is turned off when leaving the apartment.

 Always turn off the household electrical appliance, and any electrical device.

Bathroom
 Be quick when using the bathroom (we never know; someone might just arrive and need
the facilities as well)
 Keep any hygiene product in bedroom shelf or inside suitcase when not inside
washroom. Never leave anything personal there. (including counter area or tub)
 Rinse the toothpaste inside the sink
 Clean the mirror from toothpaste splashing (after flossing or brushing teeth)
 Rinse hair from tub and sink
 Make sure that no hair is left on the floor (especially long hair)
 Make sure to always turn off the water if unattended
 Taking a bath is not permitted. Only showers.
 Always remove suspicious stains inside toilet. And make sure to keep toilet bowl cleaned
and dry
 Bring garbage out of the bathroom to the kitchen and then outside the apartment

Kitchen
 Always identify food with name and date inside the fridge and freezer (if no name, it is
susceptible to being thrown away)
 If you want to share your food with everyone, identify the food with the apartment #.
 When cooking, feel free to open the balcony door or window slightly to bring fresh air in
the apartment. Be careful about strong smells resulting from cooking.
 Never leave any food on the counters, table or fridge top (as well will be thrown away)
 Fruits can be left in the fruit basket. Must be identified as well.
 Feel free to throw away any food that is expired/rotten. Always bring the garbage out.
 Keep in the fridge small format containers in order to save space for others
 Always wash the dishes. Not only leave it in the container. Also put the dry dishes back
in the cupboards when dishes are dry or if rack is more than half full.
 Always wash splashes inside Microwave, toaster (unplug first), oven, boiler, coffee
machine, can opener, fridge or freezer.
 Make sure to never metal utensils inside the Pan as the coating will deteriorate and
small particles and bits may be consumed. It will also make the Pan stickier and more
difficult to wash. Always gently use plastic or wood.
 The fuse box is located in the kitchen. There are extra fuses in designated spot. If a fuse
blows, please test all of the fuses to find which one blew and replace it as soon as
possible. Also be careful about using too many electronic devices at once. (for exemple,
hair dryer, air conditioner, iron board, etc.)
 Make sure to set an alarm on your cellphone if using the oven. Do not preheat oven. Do
not leave apartment if you are cooking something in the oven.
 Fire extinguisher available inside kitchen. Please make yourself aware of its location and
operation
 Never unplug the detector as it is against the law.

Bedroom
 Always use a minimum of mattress cover and one sheet on the bed as hygiene obliges.
 Never keep air conditioner on if not present inside the bedroom
 Have bedding tidy when not using the bed
 Never bring food or drinks inside bedroom. Only water bottle is permitted.
 Always leave the door of the bedroom opened if nobody is inside the bedroom
 Make sure to keep the bedroom garbage bin nice and clean at all times. Keep the
clothing to a minimum and make sure clothing is identified with name.
 Never bring the big suitcase inside the bedroom
 Make sure to clean the bed sheets regularly as it will get stinky over time
 The space under the bed should always be kept tidy and free of trash

Dining room
 Always stow ironing board after usage, always put electrical cords away.
 Clean and wash the table after using. Always keep tidy!

Balcony
 Always smoke outside with the door shut.

 Empty the ashtray each time, safely, directly in the outside garbage container (we don’t
want the smell of cigarette inside the kitchen garbage.
